Color Magic™ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do you clean glass after it is painted?
A: To clean a completed project, use a mild vinegar and water solution. Do not use an ammonia-based cleaner such as window cleaner. Do not put painted glass in a dishwasher.
Q: Can Color Magic™ be used in an airbrush on hand blown glass art?
A: The transparent and opaque stains can be successfully airbrushed on surfaces such as sandblasted glass, mirror, metal, etched metal, and wood facades. Create smoothly graded backgrounds, interesting textures, shade defined areas, or hard-edged lines.
Q: What is the drying time for Color Magic™ stains?
A: Although the stains appear to be dry to the touch within 5 to 10 minutes, let them dry to a hard finish overnight. You can speed up the drying process of the color stains and the UV sealant by blowing warm air from a hair dryer on the newly applied sealant or color; or place in a warm (200 degrees) oven for 45 minutes.
Q: What is the shelf life of Color Magic™ stains?
A: When stored tightly capped and in a cool, dry place, Color Magic™ stains have an indefinite shelf life, except for the glitters and metallics.
Q: Can you mix Color Magic™ and UV Sealant together?
A: No, they need to go on separately.
Q: Can you put Color Magic™ on dishes?
A: Only if the dishes are for decoration. Don’t eat off of them. Color Magic™ is not dishwasher safe.
Q: When blending colors, how can I keep Color Magic™ from drying so quickly?
A: Working in a cool and damp area will slow the drying process.
